Grand Street Fish Market
August 16, 2008
There are a bunch of good fish markets. This one is on the South side of Grand between Christie and Bowery.
Wedding Cake in the Window
August 16, 2008
Any place with a giant wedding cake in the front window HAS to be OK right? Well this place is the King and the Queen of Wedding Cakes in Chinatown. They make over 1,000 a year.
Tu Quynh Pharmacy
August 16, 2008
The Tu Quynh Pharmacy awning covers one of the best places in the world to get a Vietnamese Sandwich. I could do a hundred posts on Bahn Mi Saigon but I’ll leave that for a different day and a different place. This family owned store is on Grand Street and they used to be on Hester I think. It started as a Vietnamese Video / sandwich shop and is still is with a new and beautiful building around it now.
Mr. Trinh’s Farm Truck
August 16, 2008
I used to think this was a permanent fixture but it travels every day. They get back to Bowery super early and they keep a car there to reserve the spot. It is critical to have parking where you can unload on some of these Chinatown Streets.
