The Century Cafe and Bakery in New York City has been family owned and operated since 2000. To start a new business at the very beginning of a new century is very lucky according to legend, and that’s exactly how the Century Cafe got it’s name.

My name is Mal Milligan, I’m the owner of Web Design WorkPlace and I designed and built this site. I did it mainly because my family has been friends with Tom’s family for many years and I am continuously impressed by the variety, the eye appeal, and the incredible flavors and smells I catch when I go to one of his bakeries. To say there are 100 different baked fresh items available at the Century Cafe on a daily basis is no exaggeration. I have converted dozens of people to become solid fans of the Cafe, and of the phenomenon of Chinese bakeries. Once you break the ice and order your first fresh bun here, it is one of those food experiences that will stay with you for the rest of your life and it will bring you back time and time again like it has for me and my kids.

The CenturyCafe.com site was custom built using a Revolution Pro Media Theme for WordPress. I took over 1,000 photographs using a Nikon D-60 using 3 Nikon lenses for this site. Photo enhancements done using PhotoShop CS3 and FireWorks CS3. I also use Dreamweaver CS3 and Edit Plus. Working with CSS is so much easier using FireFox and the Firebug add-on. I would like to thank Brian Gardner who created the Revolution Skins – I like them so much I bought the unlimited distribution Developer pack. Rebecca at Reb WebDesign for her advanced knowledge of CSS and web design. Reb was the only consultant who worked with me on this design. I also want to thank the staff at the Century Café for doing such a great job with all the photo setups and especially for finding a way to smile a hundred times a day. I’ve personally purchased over 1000 domain names from Godaddy over the last few years. You can buy discounted Godaddy products at my pro reseller site Domain Star. Everything there is available to the public at the lowest buy rate I can get as a pro reseller… so it’s all Godaddy products and services at a cheaper price. I’m a former US Navy Submarine guy but I somehow landed up in Vietnam 10 times since 1993. I can say the owner of Godaddy Bob Parsons is indeed a great guy and I’ve exchanged emails with him a few times over the years. He has been to Vietnam too. I am available for custom web work and SEO work and I have dozens of friends I have worked with on and off over the years covering every possible specialty in the web world. Right now I am having too much fun as usual and I’m pretty much only doing new sites using WP 2.5 and custom CSS skins. Please send me an email and I’ll call you back. I usually combine a custom web with 12 months of ongoing Search Engine Optimization. Most companies are OK with 2 hours of SEO per month to maintain decent rankings and add pages here and there.
