Chinese Rice Soup - My Favorite

September 1, 2008 · Print This Article

My all time favorite Chinese breakfast food is … rice soup. This one is special. Rice soup base is one of the easiest things in the world to make. You boil rice and keep adding water and keep stirring. After an hour all the rice is broken and the soup is thick. There are an endless variety of rice soups made with this basic stock. Century adds boiled chicken and ginger in a perfect combination.

I haven’t tried the Chinese version of this meal, but I’ve tried the Filipino version of it—it has chicken, (sometimes beef) and ginger, no century egg. It’s very similar in the sense that it’s a porridge. But it’s different because in the Filipino version you eat cubed tofu with a soy sauce and vinegar dressing.

But I bet this is a real tasty breakfast, that really warms your belly and makes you strong. I must try this dish one day!

    Thanks for sharing!
